The Salvation Army Arnold Corps is looking for a Receptionist/ Office Clerk. This individual is responsible for performing the administration of daily office workflow, handling and preparation of correspondence, preparation of deposits, telephone contact with public and Advisory Council members.

This is a part-time, 24 hours per week, $14.00 per hour.

Essential Functions



  1. Answer phones, handle routine calls and direct calls to the proper department/program. Take and pass messages as needed.
  2. Make telephone calls as requested (e.g., meeting reminders).
  3. Perform clerical support function to include typing, copying, filing, faxing, etc.
  4. Collect and distribute incoming mail and dispatch outgoing mail.
  5. Maintain office area clear and in order.
  6. Manage and order office supplies and maintain work room.
  7. Work with staff on special projects.
  8. Open and close building as necessary.
  9. Adhere to professional standards of practice. Appropriately represent The Salvation Army in the community and be responsible to and be supervised by the Office Manage Maintain confidentiality.
  10. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors, and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers, and supervisors.



Education and Experience

High School Diploma/G.E.D., plus one year formal secretarial/administrative training or the equivalent of one year of clerical work experience. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Able to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time. Ability to type 45 WPM. Experience on Windows with word processing, spreadsheet and email applications. Willingness to continue educational skills as necessary for job performance. Ability to relate to people in a courteous and professional manner with good interpersonal skills. Pass TSA MVR check is a plus.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
