Position Highlights:

  • Position: Simulation Specialist
  • Location: Evanston, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time
  • Hours: 40 hours; M-F 7am-3:30pm; occasional weekends; rotating
  • Required Travel: NorthShore legacy 4 hospitals: Evanston, Highland Park, Glenbrook and Skokie Hospitals, Swedish Hospital, Northwest Community Hospital

Assists with planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating education programs that incorporate simulation techniques for all levels of personnel. The purpose of this job is to assist in providing an educational environment for Physicians, Residents, Medical Students, Nursing and pre-hospital personnel. Will provide logistical support to any ancillary department who wish to use the simulators or simulation center.

What you will do:

  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates education programs that incorporate simulation
  • Participates in planning, implementing and evaluating continuing education programs for all levels
  • Assist EMS coordinators in development of scenarios for EMT and paramedics
  • Develop Continuing Education Programs for the Nursing Education and Professional Development
  • Drafts proposals for grant submissions and composes reports to funding sources and administrators
  • Collaborates with faculty in developing ideas for innovative research, designing study protocol
  • Assists in recruitment and training of technical staff and other Simulation Center employees
  • Operation of computerized mannequins requiring mastery of its operating software
  • Interfacing with Quality Department, Development and Public Relations leadership regarding activities of the simulation center

What you will need:

  • Education: Minimum Formal Education Required: graduate of a state approved school of nursing. Foreign and out of state graduates must meet eligibility requirements for Illinois NCLEX. BSN preferred.
  • Certification: Current RN license in the state of Illinois --BLS required--ACLS preferred. PALS certification desirable
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a critical care settings. Simulation experience preferred.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Strong clinical skills, familiarity with Laerdal, METI, and Gaumard preferred. Teaching experience preferred.
