Job Description
  • Transition the CASTLE web-based .Net 8 system to the latest version in stages, allowing ongoing updates and fixes without freezing the application.
  • Perform all phases of software development with emphasis on requirements development, planning, high-level systems analysis, design, programming, documentation, testing.
  • Analyze customer's business requirements and incorporate those requirements into accepted task deliverables.
  • Improve the CASTLE application with a new, modern look and feel and improve user experience and performance.
  • Migrate to .NET 8 - Utilize ASP.NET Core's proxy functionality to enable a single application to support objects from both .NET 8 and the .NET Framework.
  • Implement minor changes in current .NET Framework - updates with minor impacts on the existing codebase.
  • Implement major changes and enhancements in .NET 8 - Significant modifications or enhancements will be developed using .NET 8 components and accessed by the proxy
  • Implement Telerik for all reports - Transition of reporting capabilities from the traditional .NET framework to Telerik's reporting tool for .NET applications.
  • Provide input to federal PM for:
  • Scope and objectives
  • Work breakdown structure
  • roles and responsibilities between all parties
  • Initial risk assessment and mitigation plan
  • Project communication protocol
  • Project deliverables and acceptance criteria
  • Change management strategy and protocol
  • Schedule of milestones
Qualifications
  • Federal experience.
  • Experience with time and labor collection, Labor Distribution Reporting (LDR) processing.
  • Experience with systems that process and transmit Time & Attendance data to the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS).
  • Experience designing, developing and maintaining information systems that use Oracle database 19c or higher, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Knowledge of ISO 20000 and/or ISO 9000:2001 standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of operating systems, web browsers, and miscellaneous software tools. such as:
    • .NET technologies: Visual Basic (VB).NET and C#, Active Server Page .NET (ASP NET)
    • Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)
    • Javascript
    • Structured Query Language (SQL)
    • Oracle Stored Procedure (PL/SQL)
    • Telerik
    • Aspose
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or other related discipline.
  • Seven years of progressive experience in computer programming and analysis in broad-based IT environments, including contemporary computer hardware and programming languages.
  • Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work independently or under general direction only.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile ceremonies.
  • Preferred experience with the CASTLE system
  • Experience with YAML a PLUS.
  • Workdays: Monday-Friday.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to clear a federal background investigation - Applicants selected will be subject to a government security.
