ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Changing light bulbs; Adjustment and repair to doors, locks and windows; Repairing and replacement of shelves and cabinets; Assembling and repairing office desks, chairs, computer stations and typewriter stands; repairing ceramic tile, carpet, drywall and door frame; Completing repair and maintenance of plumbing and minor electrical and hvac equipment such as changing filters, belts and greasing; Completing custodial duties involving the cleaning of classrooms, carpets, floors and lavatories. Setting up chairs, tables, public announcing systems and audio-visual equipment for all classes and special events; Keeping all classrooms clean and ready for use by students; Informing the provost of any situation that might require immediate attention regarding safety; Offering suggestions for improvement of campus maintenance; Completing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Physical Plant; Hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30pm. Hours are subject to change. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an ability to walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, use ladders and other equipment, operate a motor vehicle and carry items occasionally in excess of fifty (50) pounds. The employee must be in good physical condition in order to do the type of work required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
