Overview

The Restaurant General Manager helps position food and beverage experiences as a brand differentiator and develops key competitive advantages to drive top line revenues while maintaining superior guest experiences. Leads teams through resolutions; will participate in the development and execution of relevant strategies and tactics which result in creative revenue generation and improvement, lowered costs, increased efficiency and improved operating margins.



Responsibilities

    Identifies root causes for hotel food and beverage specific areas of revenue cost deficiencies that are not in line with hotel programs.
  • Implements plans and actions to correct these deficiencies and subsequent follow up; this includes taking an active role in the hotel's restaurant and bar operations so that there are immediate operational improvements. Develops restaurant and bar operational checklists to ensure consistency and thoroughness of this process.
  • Provides operational support to the Director of Food and Beverage and other key property leadership in food and beverage. This support allows for consistency in HEI operating philosophies in conjunction with specific property standards.
  • Assists with the Corporate beverage program utilizing market support from the beverage partners to develop revenue generating quarterly promotions, core beverage menus, and training programs for all food and beverage associates.
  • Continually evaluates and develops standard operating procedures relative to food and beverage operational excellence.
  • Champions efforts to improve guest satisfaction and profitability performance by continuously raising operational effectiveness, standards, and staff performance.
  • Identifies service improvements, anticipates challenges, and creates competitive breakthrough strategies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science or related degree preferably from a Hotel or Business School.
  • 5+ years' experience in overall Food & Beverage operations, fine dining preferred.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Food and Beverage principles and practices.
  • TABC, TX Food Handlers required.
  • Complete knowledge of Micros and Micros Symphony systems.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession. This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or complex problems and food and beverage management.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of marketing strategy and implementation, including social media and public relations.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
