Job Summary

Machine Operator II is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

-Looking for experienced operator with minimum 1 year of operating experience with wood products

-Precision and Attention to Detail: Must produce accurate cuts and molded profiles to meet specific requirements

-Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

-Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify issues with machinery or materials and implement solutions

-Teamwork: Maintaining a positive, 'can-do' attitude & gets along with peers

-Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and co-

workers

SPECIFIC TO MOULDER OPERATORS:

-Must have a good understanding of wood moulders & possess a mix of technical skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic

-Should have a deep understanding of how wood moulder saws function, including knowing how to adjust settings for different types of cuts and profiles.

Troubleshooting skills - should have the ability to quickly identify and resolve machine malfunctions or issues with material

-Precision - position requires detailed work. A good operator consistently ensures that measurements, angles, and cuts meet the specified standards. Must have the ability to inspect the final product for imperfections and defects.

Time management - a good operator manages time effectively, balancing machine setup, maintenance, and production tasks without sacrificing quality.

2nd shift hours: Monday-Thursday 10:00am-8:30pm

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures final product meets customer expectations. Secures and maintains material and supplies required for the operation according to production sheets.
  • Completes work area set up.
  • Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
  • Continually watches the machine to ensure quality.
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components finish product.
  • Operates hand tools to complete assembly process.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • May perform preventive maintenance as specified.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with heavy manufacturing and/or assembly equipment
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
