Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for an EHS Specialist to be based out of our Phoenix, AZ facility and will be responsible for managing the Environmental Health and Safety of the facility.

What you'll do:



  • Employee onboarding/orientation (up to 100 employees).
  • Manage subcontractor EHS compliance.
  • Safety administrative data collection.
  • Report EHS status/reviews to client(s).
  • Conduct daily EHS audits of employees and subcontractors.
  • Manage incident investigations/review.
  • Organize and run onsite safety committees.
  • Manage on site chemical program.
  • Track and maintain onsite action items.
  • Present and engage in daily safety topic review.
  • Oversee site Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) Program.
  • Coach employees on proactive safety measures.
  • Drive EHS action items while engaging facility leadership.
  • Advise facility manager on EHS compliance/protocols.
  • Direct ownership of safety Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).


What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of five-year experience working in EHS, compliance or direct field/facility safety.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Applications, PDF, compliance/audit software.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, strong time management skills and perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment with vendors, outside sub-contractors and inhouse installation teams.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and communicate effectively/professionally.
  • OSHA-30 required.
  • OSHA 500 required.
  • ASP or CSP highly desired.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Understand Atkore's EHS Enablon system.
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures for facilities.


Within 6-months, you'll:



  • Establish operating rhythm for facilities.
  • Partner with HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents and injuries.
  • Have strong onsite presence/working relationship with construction teams.


Within 12-months, you'll:



  • Create and update Enablon reports, including environmental metrics in operating rhythm.
  • Scope and process fully established for employee onboarding, weekly walks and inspections.
  • Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.
