Overview The Associate Legal Director, Commercial Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support for our marketed and late-stage clinical programs, partnering with marketing, sales, medical affairs, patient services, and market access teams. This role will support the Global Rare Business Unit (GRBU), with a particular emphasis on U.S. legal advice. The GRBU currently has two marketed products serving patients in the rare diseases of acute hepatic porphyria (AHP) and primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1), respectively. AHP represents a sub-group of porphyrias, characterized by the occurrence of neuro-visceral attacks with or without cutaneous manifestations. PH1 is a rare, life-threatening disease that can cause serious damage to kidneys and progressively to other organs. This position will require you to work in a matrix setting of a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization. You will engage with key business partners developing strategies and tactics across all channels, including activities related to engaging with customers, advertising & promotion, disease awareness, and patient support programs. A portion of this role may also be spent supporting global or international legal matters, such as reviewing and advising on global and regional promotional and medical materials, initiatives, and strategies. You will need to partner effectively with colleagues across the Commercial Legal Team and broader Legal Department. You will also need to collaborate successfully with various stakeholders such as the Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Ethics & Compliance teams as well as outside counsel. This includes working with colleagues and stakeholders in different geographies. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on healthcare laws as they relate to advertising and promotion and fraud and abuse.
